🥪 Egg Muffin Sandwich
Ingredients (for 1 sandwich):
-
1 English muffin, split and toasted
-
1 egg
-
1 slice of cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
-
1 slice of Canadian bacon, ham, or cooked bacon
-
Butter or oil for cooking
-
Salt & pepper to taste
-
Optional: a dash of hot sauce or mayo
Instructions:
-
Toast the muffin:
-
Toast both halves of the English muffin until golden brown. You can butter them while warm for extra flavor.
-
-
Cook the egg:
-
Heat a small non-stick skillet over medium heat with a bit of butter or oil.
-
Crack the egg into the pan. If you want it perfectly round, cook it in a metal ring or mason jar lid.
-
Cook to your liking (fried, scrambled, or even over-easy).
-
Season with salt and pepper.
-
-
Add the meat:
-
If you’re using Canadian bacon or ham, warm it in the same pan for about 30 seconds per side. If using regular bacon, make sure it’s already cooked and crispy.
-
-
Assemble the sandwich:
-
Bottom muffin half → cooked meat → egg → cheese → top muffin half.
-
Press it together gently.
-
-
(Optional) Warm it all together:
-
You can wrap the sandwich in foil and warm it in a toaster oven or pan for 2–3 minutes so the cheese melts and everything fuses together beautifully.
-
🔁 Variations:
-
Add spinach, avocado, or tomato for a fresh twist.
-
Use a sausage patty instead of ham.
-
Swap the muffin for a bagel, croissant, or biscuit.
