🔥 Air Fryer “Fried” Chicken Thighs (Low-Carb & Keto)
🐔 Ingredients:
-
4-6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or bone-in if you prefer)
-
2 large eggs
-
2 tablespoons half & half (or heavy cream)
-
1.5 cups pork panko (aka crushed pork rinds)
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
Optional: dash of cayenne for heat
🧑🍳 Instructions:
-
Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (or 400°F depending on your model).
-
Make the egg wash: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and half & half until smooth.
-
Season the pork panko: In another shallow bowl or dish, mix pork panko with garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and cayenne if using.
-
Coat the chicken:
-
Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
-
Dip each thigh into the egg wash, coating completely.
-
Press into the pork panko mixture until fully coated.
-
-
Air fry:
-
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil.
-
Place chicken thighs in a single layer (you may need to cook in batches).
-
Cook for 20 minutes at 390-400°F, flipping halfway through for even crispiness.
-
Internal temp should reach 165°F.
-
-
Serve hot, optionally with a sugar-free dipping sauce (ranch, spicy mayo, etc.).
🍗 Tips:
-
Bone-in thighs work too—just add ~5 extra minutes to cook time.
-
Want extra crunch? Spray a light coat of avocado oil over the top before air frying.
