🥟🔥 Carnivore Calzone
✅ Ingredients:
For the Dough (Fluff Bun Style):
-
8 egg whites (whisked to stiff peaks)
-
4 tbsp egg white powder (or collagen powder if you want)
-
½ tsp baking powder
-
Pinch of salt (optional)
For the Filling:
-
1 cup cooked shredded chicken or ground beef or sausage (or a combo)
-
½ cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or provolone)
-
2 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
-
1 fried egg (optional, for extra richness)
-
Carnivore-friendly herbs or spices (optional, like a pinch of smoked paprika or garlic powder)
🔥 Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F).
2. Make the dough:
-
Whisk egg whites until stiff peaks form.
-
Gently fold in egg white powder and baking powder without deflating the mixture.
-
Spread the mixture into a thin, round-ish shape on parchment paper (about 8 inches diameter).
3. Pre-bake the base:
-
Air fry or bake in oven for about 10–12 minutes until it sets but not browned too much.
4. Add filling:
-
Spread shredded meat evenly over half the base.
-
Sprinkle cheese and bacon over the meat.
-
Add fried egg if using.
5. Fold & seal:
-
Carefully fold the empty half over the filling to make a half-moon.
-
Press edges to seal. You can use a little egg white to “glue” the edges if needed.
6. Bake:
-
Bake or air fry at 160°C for another 8–10 minutes until cheese melts and calzone is heated through.
7. Cool slightly, slice, and enjoy!
💡 Tips:
-
Use cooked, seasoned meat for maximum flavor.
-
If you want a crispy exterior, brush the dough edges with melted butter or bacon fat before baking.
-
Serve with carnivore mayo or melted cheese sauce.
