🥩 Carnivore Calzone Recipe
(Perfect for the Carnivore Diet — low carb, zero fluff)
🧀 Ingredients:
-
1 lb (450g) ground beef
-
1/2 lb (225g) ground sausage (pork sausage is great)
-
1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
-
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
-
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
-
2 large eggs
-
1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional – some relaxed carnivores include it)
-
1/2 tsp onion powder (also optional)
🧰 What You’ll Need:
-
Large skillet
-
Mixing bowls
-
Baking sheet or cast-iron skillet
-
Parchment paper
-
Optional: pizza cutter for that satisfying calzone slice ✂️
👨🍳 Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven
Set it to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook the Meat
In a skillet over medium heat:
-
Cook the ground beef and sausage together until browned.
-
Drain any excess fat (or save it to drizzle later for bonus flavor).
-
Stir in the crumbled bacon, garlic powder, and onion powder (if using).
-
Set aside to cool slightly.
3. Make the Cheese “Dough”
In a bowl:
-
Mix the mozzarella, Parmesan, and eggs together until combined.
(It’ll be sticky and cheesy — kind of like a fathead dough.)
4. Form the Base
-
Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
-
Spread the cheese mixture into a flat oval or rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
(Tip: Wet your hands a bit so it’s easier to shape.)
5. Add the Filling
-
Spoon the meat mixture onto half of the cheese base.
-
Fold the other half over to cover the filling, like a calzone.
-
Pinch the edges or press with a fork to seal.
6. Bake
-
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the outside is golden and bubbly.
-
Let it cool for 5–10 minutes — it’ll firm up as it rests.
🧂 Optional Add-ons (Still Carnivore):
-
Serve with a side of bone marrow or beef tallow for dipping.
-
Add liver crumbles or organ mix inside for nutrient boost.
-
Sprinkle extra Parmesan on top before baking for a crusty finish.
🤤 What You Get:
A cheesy, meaty, crispy-on-the-outside, gooey-on-the-inside calzone — totally carnivore and incredibly satisfying.
