Homemade Carnivore Chicken Nuggets
Ingredients:
- 2 chicken breasts, cut into nugget-sized pieces
- 2 large eggs (for soaking)
- 1 cup fresh Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt to taste
- Optional: Garlic powder or onion powder for extra flavor (if you’re following a more lenient carnivore diet)
Instructions:
-
Prepare the chicken: Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized nugget pieces. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
-
Soak in egg: Crack the eggs into a shallow bowl and beat them. Dip each chicken piece into the egg wash, ensuring it’s fully coated.
-
Coat in Parmesan: In a separate bowl or plate, place the grated Parmesan cheese. Roll each egg-soaked chicken piece in the Parmesan, pressing gently to coat well.
-
Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for a few minutes.
-
Cook the nuggets: Arrange the Parmesan-coated chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Be careful not to overcrowd the basket—cook in batches if necessary.
-
Air fry: Cook for 15 minutes. At the 7-8 minute mark, flip the chicken nuggets to ensure even crispiness on both sides.
-
Check for doneness: The chicken should be golden brown and have an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). If not, cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, checking frequently.
-
Serve and enjoy: Let the chicken nuggets cool slightly before serving. These are great on their own or paired with a carnivore-friendly dipping sauce like homemade ranch (if you enjoy a bit of extra flavor)!
Enjoy your crispy, cheesy carnivore-friendly chicken nuggets!
