Carnivore Steak Tacos 🌮
Ingredients:
For the Taco Shells:
-
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or more if you want thicker shells)
-
1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional for extra flavor)
-
1/4 tsp onion powder (optional for extra flavor)
-
Parchment paper (for baking)
For the Filling:
-
1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or your choice; thinly sliced or cubed)
-
2 tbsp butter (or ghee) for cooking
-
1/4 cup feta cheese (crumbled)
-
2 tbsp sour cream
-
1 tbsp hot sauce (or to taste)
-
Salt (to taste)
Instructions:
-
Make the Taco Shells:
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a bowl, mix the shredded mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder (if using).
-
Spoon the cheese mixture onto the parchment paper in small, circular shapes, about 4-5 inches wide, spreading the cheese to form a thin layer (think taco shell size).
-
Bake the cheese in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
-
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a minute or two. Once it has cooled just slightly, carefully flip each “shell” over, and bake for another 1-2 minutes until it’s crisp.
-
-
Cook the Steak:
-
While the taco shells are baking, heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter (or ghee).
-
Season the steak with salt and cook it in the skillet, searing each side for about 2-3 minutes (or longer if you like it more done).
-
Once the steak is cooked to your liking, remove it from the pan and let it rest for a couple of minutes before slicing it into thin strips or small pieces.
-
-
Prepare the Topping Sauce:
-
In a small bowl, mix the sour cream and hot sauce together. Add a pinch of salt to taste and adjust the heat if needed.
-
-
Assemble the Tacos:
-
Once the cheese shells are baked and the steak is ready, start assembling the tacos:
-
Place a layer of steak onto each cheese shell.
-
Sprinkle with crumbled feta cheese.
-
Drizzle with the sour cream and hot sauce mix.
-
If desired, sprinkle a little extra salt on top.
-
-
-
Final Bake and Serve:
-
Place the assembled tacos back into the oven for 1 more minute to warm everything up and meld the flavors together.
-
Carefully fold each cheese taco shell over to form a taco shape.
-
-
Plate and Enjoy:
-
Plate your carnivore steak tacos, and enjoy the deliciously crispy, cheesy, meaty goodness with just the right balance of heat from the hot sauce and creaminess from the sour cream!
-
Tips:
-
If you’re looking for extra flavor or texture, you can add some sliced avocado or fresh herbs on top (just make sure it fits within your carnivore preferences!).
-
If you prefer a crunchier shell, feel free to bake a little longer until the cheese crisps up more.
These Carnivore Steak Tacos are a perfect mix of cheesy indulgence, steak, and creamy goodness! Enjoy! 🌮💗
