Breakfast Pizza

A delicious, protein-packed breakfast pizza made with a savory sausage crust, scrambled eggs, and melted cheese! Perfect for a hearty, carnivore-friendly breakfast.
Ingredients:
-
1 ½ pounds ground sausage (more or less as preferred)
-
8 ounces room temperature mascarpone or your favorite soft cheese (cream cheese, soft goat cheese, ricotta, etc.)
-
4 eggs
-
4 ounces shredded cheddar or your favorite cheese
-
1 tsp garlic
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
Butter for cooking
Instructions:
-
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
-
Make the Sausage Crust:
Press the ground sausage into a sheet pan, flattening it out as thin as possible (it will thicken as it cooks). Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked.
-
Cook Scrambled Eggs:
While the crust is baking, heat some butter in a pan and cook scrambled eggs. Season with salt to taste.
-
Drain Grease:
Remove the sausage crust from the oven and drain any excess grease.
-
Add Cheese:
Turn on the broiler. Spread the soft cheese (mascarpone or your choice) over the sausage crust, reaching the edges. Sprinkle garlic and black pepper over the soft cheese.
-
Assemble the Pizza:
Spread the scrambled eggs over the soft cheese. Top the pizza with the shredded cheese.
-
Broil:
Broil the pizza for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
-
Enjoy:
Serve hot! Leftovers are just as tasty when eaten cold.
Optional Prep Tip:
You can prepare the sausage crusts ahead of time on parchment paper and freeze them. Once frozen, wrap them in plastic wrap for easy future meals. Frozen crusts will take about 18 minutes to cook at the same temperature.
