Carnivore Birthday Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Meat “Cake Layers”:
- 2 lbs (900g) ground beef (or ground pork, or a mixture of both)
- 1/2 cup grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
- 2 large eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tbsp onion powder (optional)
For the “Frosting”:
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened (you can also use mascarpone cheese for a slightly different texture)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional, to thin the cream cheese)
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp butter (melted)
For the Decorations:
- 1 lb (450g) cooked bacon, crispy and crumbled or cut into strips
- 4-6 fried or scrambled eggs (for layers between the “cake” layers)
- 1-2 slices of your favorite cheese (e.g., cheddar or Swiss) for topping or extra decoration
- Fresh herbs for decoration (optional, like chives or parsley)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Cake Layers
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a cake pan or line it with parchment paper. If you have two round cake pans, that’s perfect for layering.
- Mix the ingredients for the cake layers: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef (or pork), grated cheese, eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Shape and bake the layers: Divide the meat mixture evenly into two (or three) portions, depending on how many layers you want. Shape them into cakes and place them in the prepared pans. Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the meat is fully cooked and the edges are slightly browned.
Step 2: Make the Frosting
- Prepare the frosting: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, heavy cream (if using), Dijon mustard (optional), salt, pepper, and melted butter. Use a hand mixer or whisk to blend everything together until it forms a smooth, creamy frosting.
Step 3: Assemble the Carnivore Cake
- Layer the “cake”: Once the meat layers are cooked and have cooled slightly, place one meat layer on a plate or cake stand.
- Add a layer of eggs: Place a fried or scrambled egg on top of the first meat layer for an additional filling.
- Frost the first layer: Spread a generous amount of the cream cheese frosting over the meat and egg layer.
- Repeat the layers: Add the second layer of meat (and optional egg layer) and frost again with the cream cheese frosting.
- Top the cake: For the final layer, top with extra frosting, crumbled bacon, and cheese slices, and arrange a few fresh herbs for decoration if desired.
Step 4: Serve
- Slice and serve your Carnivore Birthday Cake! You can top it with more crispy bacon, additional fried eggs, or even small meatballs or sausage slices to really make it extra special.
Enjoy the savory celebration with this meat lover’s dream cake!
