Carnivore Cajun Shrimp with ParmesanÂ
Ingredients:
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp butter (divided)
- Cajun seasoning (ensure no added sugar or plant-based ingredients)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese (optional for strict carnivore, but it’s commonly accepted)
- 2-3 tbsp beef tallow (or more butter if preferred for the sauce)
Instructions:
-
Cook the Shrimp:
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and season generously with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and are cooked through.
- Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
-
Make the Sauce:
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and 2-3 tablespoons of beef tallow (or more butter).
- Season with extra Cajun seasoning and salt to taste. Stir until the butter and tallow are combined, and the sauce starts to bubble.
- If you like a little more creaminess, add a little more parmesan to the sauce to thicken it slightly, but keep it runny for dipping as you prefer.
-
Combine Shrimp and Sauce:
- Add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet with the sauce.
- Toss the shrimp in the sauce until they’re coated and heated through.
-
Serve:
- Spoon the shrimp and sauce over your steak or serve on its own as a carnivore-friendly meal!
Notes:
- Parmesan is optional, but it adds a delicious richness. If you want to keep it strictly carnivore, skip the parmesan, and you’ll still have a flavorful, buttery shrimp sauce.
- This recipe works well for dipping steak in, or you can serve the shrimp directly as a main protein.
- If you want to add some variety, you could also use beef liver in place of shrimp or alongside it for an even richer experience.
Enjoy your carnivore Cajun shrimp with steak! 😋
