Carnivore Cheese Bacon Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (preferably full-fat)
- 1 cup cream cheese (softened)
- 4 large eggs
- ½ cup cooked bacon (chopped, about 6-8 slices)
- 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- ¼ teaspoon salt (to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper (optional)
- Fresh herbs or seasoning (optional, such as thyme, rosemary, or oregano)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a loaf pan with parchment paper or grease it with butter to prevent the bread from sticking.
- Prepare the Bacon: If you haven’t done so already, cook the bacon until crispy. You can either fry, bake, or air-fry it. Once cooked, chop the bacon into small, bite-sized pieces. Set it aside to cool.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese. Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to blend these two together until they form a smooth, creamy texture. This can take about 2-3 minutes of mixing.
- Add Eggs and Butter: Crack the eggs into the cheese mixture and add the melted butter. Mix again until everything is fully incorporated.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Stir in the baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper (if using). Mix until everything is evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Incorporate Bacon: Fold the chopped bacon into the dough using a spatula or spoon. This will evenly distribute the bacon pieces throughout the bread, adding a savory crunch to each bite.
- Pour into Loaf Pan: Pour the mixture into your prepared loaf pan. Use a spatula to spread the dough evenly in the pan. Smooth out the top for a uniform shape.
- Bake the Bread: Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. The bread should turn golden brown and firm to the touch. You can check for doneness by inserting a toothpick or a knife into the center. If it comes out clean, the bread is ready.
- Cool and Slice: Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes in the pan. After that, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice the bread into 8-10 slices depending on your desired thickness.
- Serve and Enjoy: This bread is perfect for a carnivore-style meal. Serve it with additional butter, or as an accompaniment to meats, cheeses, or even a hearty breakfast.
Tips:
- For Extra Flavor: Add herbs like rosemary, thyme, or some crushed red pepper for a little kick. You can also experiment with adding different types of cheeses.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. This bread can also be frozen for up to a month. Just slice it first, so you can easily grab individual pieces.
