If you’re following a carnivore or low-carb lifestyle and missing the flavors of a classic cheeseburger, this Carnivore Cheeseburger Pie might just hit the spot! This recipe is a savory, meat-loaded dish that takes the essentials of a cheeseburger and transforms them into a casserole-style pie.
Ingredients:
1.5 lbs. ground beef
1.5 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite cheese)
4 large eggs
½ cup heavy cream
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
Optional: Cooked bacon bits for added flavor
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat, then season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
3. Prepare the Pie Base: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream until smooth.
4. Layer the Pie: Grease a 9-inch pie dish, then add the cooked ground beef to the bottom. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the beef.
5. Pour the Egg Mixture: Pour the egg and cream mixture evenly over the beef and cheese layers.
6. Optional Topping: For extra flavor, add bacon bits on top before baking.
7. Bake: Place the pie dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and the filling is set.
8. Serve: Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy the carnivore cheeseburger experience!
This dish is delicious as-is, or with a dollop of sugar-free ketchup or mustard on the side if you like a classic cheeseburger taste!
This has been tested with a wild carnivore (a dog wandered onto my deck) and it was consumed in no time at all!!
(Accidentally left it outside on a table and went inside to get something else)
