Carnivore Chicken Tenders
Ingredients:
-
2 large chicken breasts (cut into tenders or strips)
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (or more for coating)
-
1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
-
1/2 tsp onion powder (optional)
-
1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
-
1-2 large eggs (for dipping)
-
Salt and pepper (to taste)
-
2 tbsp butter (or ghee) for frying
-
Optional: 1/4 cup pork rind crumbs (if you want extra crunch)
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Chicken:
-
Slice the chicken breasts into tenders or strips, about 1-inch thick, depending on your preference.
-
-
Make the Coating:
-
In a shallow bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. If you want extra crunch, you can mix in some crushed pork rinds to the Parmesan cheese mixture.
-
-
Dipping the Chicken:
-
In another bowl, whisk the eggs. Dip each chicken strip into the egg wash and then coat it with the Parmesan mixture. Ensure the chicken is fully covered on both sides.
-
-
Cooking the Chicken Tenders:
-
In a large skillet, heat the butter (or ghee) over medium heat.
-
Once the butter is melted and hot, place the chicken tenders in the skillet. Cook the chicken tenders for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy on the outside, and cooked through on the inside. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
-
-
Serve:
-
Remove the tenders from the skillet and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess fat. Serve hot with a side of dipping sauce like ranch or blue cheese (both carnivore-friendly options).
-
Tips:
-
For an extra crispy coating, you can use more Parmesan or even add crushed pork rinds for texture.
-
If you prefer air frying, preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and cook the tenders for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
These tenders will be crunchy, juicy, and packed with flavor while staying fully carnivore-friendly. Enjoy!
