Carnivore Egg Loaf recipe
Ingredients:
- 10 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream (or full-fat coconut cream, if dairy-free)
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese (or any cheese of your choice like mozzarella or gouda)
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (optional, for added flavor)
- 1/2 lb ground beef, pork, or a mix of both (or any ground meat you prefer)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup butter or ghee, melted (for greasing and added richness)
- Fresh herbs, such as parsley or thyme (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan (9×5 inches) with melted butter or ghee to prevent sticking. - Prepare the meat:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground meat of your choice (beef, pork, or a mixture). Break it apart with a spoon and cook until browned and fully cooked through. If using bacon, cook it until crispy, then crumble it. Drain any excess fat if needed, and set the cooked meat aside. - Prepare the egg mixture:
In a large mixing bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them together until fully blended. Add the heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Continue whisking until everything is combined smoothly. - Combine the ingredients:
Stir the cooked meat (and bacon, if using) into the egg mixture. Add the grated cheese and mix it in thoroughly. The cheese will melt as it bakes, adding a creamy texture to the loaf. - Pour the mixture into the loaf pan:
Pour the egg and meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly. Tap the pan lightly on the counter to remove any air bubbles. - Bake:
Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes, or until the loaf is set and golden brown on top. To test for doneness, insert a knife or toothpick into the center—if it comes out clean, the loaf is ready. - Cool and serve:
Once baked, allow the loaf to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with additional melted butter or your favorite carnivore-friendly dipping sauce. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Tips:
- You can make this loaf ahead of time and store it in the fridge for a few days. It’s also great for meal prepping, as it can be easily reheated in the oven or microwave.
- Add more cheese or different kinds of meat to suit your preferences. Ground sausage, shredded chicken, or even leftover steak can be used as variations.
This Carnivore Egg Loaf is filling, rich, and a great way to pack in your protein and fat, all while keeping it strictly carnivore and low-carb!
