Carnivore Popcorn (Zero Carb Crunch Snack)
Version 1: Crispy Pork Rind “Popcorn”
🥓 Ingredients:
-
1–2 cups pork rinds (plain, no additives or carbs)
-
Optional: melted butter, salt, or carnivore seasoning (e.g. beef tallow dust, smoked salt)
🔥 Instructions:
-
Crush (optional): Break large pork rinds into bite-sized “popcorn” pieces if needed.
-
Heat: Microwave in a bowl for 20–30 seconds or until warm and slightly puffier (watch carefully — they can burn).
-
OR toast in an oven at 375°F (190°C) for 5–7 minutes to crisp them further.
-
-
Flavor: Toss with melted butter or seasonings if desired.
-
Cool slightly and enjoy — they’ll crisp as they cool!
Version 2: Cheese Popcorn (Cheese Puffs)
🧀 Ingredients:
-
1 cup cubed or shredded cheese (cheddar, gouda, or mozzarella work well)
🔥 Instructions:
-
Freeze cheese cubes for at least 2 hours (helps them puff instead of melt).
-
Place frozen cheese pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
-
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 5–7 minutes, or until puffed and golden.
-
Let cool completely for max crunch.
Tip: Don’t overcrowd the tray, and don’t skip the freezing step — it’s key for puffing!
🥚 Bonus Idea: Egg White Puffs
Whip egg whites to stiff peaks, pipe or spoon small mounds onto parchment, and bake at 300°F (150°C) until dry and crispy (about 30–40 min). Great zero-carb crunch!
🧊 Storage:
-
Store all versions in an airtight container at room temp for 2–3 days.
-
Re-crisp in the oven or air fryer if needed.
Let me know if you want a sweet version (still carnivore-friendly) or an air fryer method!
