Carnivore Protein Burger (Zero Carbs)
Ingredients:
-
1 lb ground beef (80/20 ratio or higher fat for juiciness, or any other ground meat like pork or lamb)
-
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
-
1 egg (helps bind the mixture)
-
1 tbsp beef tallow, butter, or ghee (optional, for extra richness)
-
1 tsp salt (or to taste)
-
Optional: 1/2 tsp garlic powder, onion powder, or dried herbs (optional, not strict carnivore)
-
Optional: 2–3 slices of cheese for topping
Instructions:
-
Mix the Burger Patties:
-
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded cheese, egg, salt, and optional spices. Mix thoroughly until everything is evenly combined. The cheese will melt during cooking, adding flavor and moisture.
-
-
Form the Patties:
-
Divide the mixture into 4–6 portions, depending on your desired patty size.
-
Shape each portion into a round patty, making a slight indentation in the center (to help them cook evenly and prevent puffing up in the middle).
-
-
Cook the Patties:
-
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the tallow, butter, or ghee (if using). Once hot, add the patties.
-
Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your preferred level of doneness (145°F for medium-rare, 160°F for medium). Flip carefully to avoid losing the cheese.
-
-
Optional: Add Cheese on Top:
-
If you want a cheesier burger, add a slice of cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking. Cover with a lid to melt the cheese.
-
-
Serve:
-
Let the patties rest for a few minutes before serving. These are perfect served as-is, or you can wrap them in lettuce (if not strict carnivore) or enjoy them with a carnivore-friendly dipping sauce like egg yolk or hollandaise.
-
🍽️ Serving Ideas:
-
Eat them as-is, or pair them with a fried egg on top for extra protein.
-
For extra flavor, drizzle melted bone marrow or butter on top.
🧊 Storage:
-
Fridge: Store in an airtight container for 3–4 days.
-
Freezer: Store patties on a baking sheet, freeze individually, then transfer to a bag for up to 3 months.
