Carnivore Protein Burger (Zero Carbs)

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 ratio or higher fat for juiciness, or any other ground meat like pork or lamb)

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)

  • 1 egg (helps bind the mixture)

  • 1 tbsp beef tallow, butter, or ghee (optional, for extra richness)

  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)

  • Optional: 1/2 tsp garlic powder, onion powder, or dried herbs (optional, not strict carnivore)

  • Optional: 2–3 slices of cheese for topping

Instructions:

  1. Mix the Burger Patties:

    • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded cheese, egg, salt, and optional spices. Mix thoroughly until everything is evenly combined. The cheese will melt during cooking, adding flavor and moisture.

  2. Form the Patties:

    • Divide the mixture into 4–6 portions, depending on your desired patty size.

    • Shape each portion into a round patty, making a slight indentation in the center (to help them cook evenly and prevent puffing up in the middle).

  3. Cook the Patties:

    • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the tallow, butter, or ghee (if using). Once hot, add the patties.

    • Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your preferred level of doneness (145°F for medium-rare, 160°F for medium). Flip carefully to avoid losing the cheese.

  4. Optional: Add Cheese on Top:

    • If you want a cheesier burger, add a slice of cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking. Cover with a lid to melt the cheese.

  5. Serve:

    • Let the patties rest for a few minutes before serving. These are perfect served as-is, or you can wrap them in lettuce (if not strict carnivore) or enjoy them with a carnivore-friendly dipping sauce like egg yolk or hollandaise.

🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Eat them as-is, or pair them with a fried egg on top for extra protein.

  • For extra flavor, drizzle melted bone marrow or butter on top.

🧊 Storage:

  • Fridge: Store in an airtight container for 3–4 days.

  • Freezer: Store patties on a baking sheet, freeze individually, then transfer to a bag for up to 3 months.
