Carnivore Salmon & Cream Cheese Sauce
Ingredients:
-
2 fillets of salmon (about 6-8 oz each)
-
2 tbsp butter (for cooking the salmon)
-
4 oz cream cheese (full-fat)
-
1/2 cup heavy cream
-
1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional for flavor)
-
1 tbsp lemon juice (optional for a slight tang)
-
1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
Fresh dill or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the Salmon:
-
Heat 1 tbsp of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
-
Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
-
Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down (if using skin-on fillets), and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the salmon is cooked through and easily flakes with a fork. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.
2. Make the Cream Cheese Sauce:
-
In the same skillet, melt the remaining 1 tbsp of butter over medium-low heat.
-
Add the cream cheese and stir until it softens and melts into a smooth sauce.
-
Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly to combine and create a creamy sauce. Let the sauce simmer gently for a few minutes, allowing it to thicken.
-
Stir in the Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, and adjust salt and pepper to taste. If you prefer a more tangy flavor, you can add more lemon juice or Dijon mustard.
3. Serve:
-
Place the cooked salmon fillets on plates and spoon the cream cheese sauce generously over the top.
-
Garnish with fresh dill or parsley if desired.
Optional Variations:
-
You can add a touch of cooked bacon crumbles on top of the salmon for extra flavor and crunch.
-
If you like a slightly thicker sauce, you can cook it for a bit longer to reduce it down.
This Carnivore Salmon & Cream Cheese Sauce is a perfect blend of creamy, savory goodness with the rich flavor of salmon. It’s a great meal for anyone on a carnivore diet and can be paired with other meat dishes or eaten alone. Enjoy!
