  • 6 strips bacon

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Bacon: Start by heating a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the 6 strips of bacon and cook until crispy. This should take about 5-7 minutes, depending on the thickness of your bacon. Once crispy, remove the bacon from the pot and set it aside. Once cooled, crumble or chop it into small pieces for later use.
  2. Brown the Sausage: In the same pot, with the bacon fat still in it, add 1 lb of ground sausage. Break the sausage apart with a spoon as it cooks, stirring occasionally to ensure it browns evenly. Cook the sausage for about 5-7 minutes until it’s fully browned and cooked through.
  3. Add Bone Broth: Pour in the 1 pint of bone broth, stirring to incorporate all the browned sausage bits from the bottom of the pot. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
  4. Stir in the Heavy Cream: Once the broth is simmering, pour in 1 quart of heavy cream. Stir to combine, and let the soup continue simmering for another 5-10 minutes until it thickens to your desired consistency.
