Carnivore Steak Egg Wrap
Ingredients:
- 1 ribeye steak (or any steak of your choice)
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tbsp butter (or ghee, for cooking)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional, for fluffier eggs)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or any cheese of your preference, optional)
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Steak:
……..
- Season your steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a skillet, heat 1 tbsp of butter over medium-high heat.
- Cook the steak for about 3-4 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness. For medium-rare, aim for about 3 minutes per side, but adjust based on your preference.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. After resting, slice the steak into thin strips or bite-sized pieces.
2. Make the Egg Wrap:
- In a bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them together with a pinch of salt and pepper. If you prefer fluffier eggs, add the heavy cream at this point.
- In the same skillet you used for the steak, melt the remaining butter over medium-low heat.
- Pour the egg mixture into the skillet, tilting the pan to ensure the eggs spread out evenly.
- Allow the eggs to cook undisturbed for about 2-3 minutes, or until the edges begin to set. You can gently lift the edges of the eggs with a spatula and tilt the pan to let any uncooked eggs flow to the edges.
- Once the eggs are mostly set but still slightly soft in the center, sprinkle the shredded cheese (if using) evenly over the surface of the eggs.
- Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, just until the cheese is melted and the eggs are fully set but still tender.
3. Assemble the Wrap:
- Place the sliced steak pieces in the center of the cooked egg wrap.
- Gently fold the sides of the eggs over the steak to create a wrap-like structure. If you prefer, you can fold it into a half-moon shape or simply fold the top and bottom over the steak to keep it more like a burrito.
- If you’d like a slightly crispy exterior, you can briefly cook the wrapped steak egg in the skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side to get it a bit golden.
4. Serve:
- Serve the carnivore steak egg wrap immediately while hot. You can garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or thyme if desired, though it’s optional.
Tips:
- You can experiment with different cuts of steak, like sirloin or flank steak, depending on your preference.
- If you don’t want cheese, the wrap still works great without it. The eggs themselves provide plenty of richness.
- For extra flavor, consider adding a little melted butter over the top or drizzling some homemade carnivore-friendly sauce, like a rich mustard or a creamy mayo-based dressing.
This Carnivore Steak Egg Wrap is a fantastic, satisfying meal that keeps the focus on meat and eggs while still feeling like a creative and indulgent wrap. Enjoy this high-protein, carnivore-friendly treat!
