🧂 Ingredients
-
1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 recommended for richness)
-
1 cup beef bone broth (unsalted or low sodium)
-
1/4 cup heavy cream
-
1 tsp sea salt (adjust to taste)
-
1 pinch freshly ground black pepper (optional if you’re strict carnivore)
-
Optional additions (still animal-based):
-
1–2 tbsp cream cheese (for a thicker sauce)
-
1 tsp garlic powder (optional for a more keto/carnivore-flex version)
-
🔥 Instructions
-
Brown the Ground Beef:
-
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Add the ground beef and break it up with a spatula.
-
Cook until it’s nicely browned and fully cooked (about 5–7 minutes).
-
Do not drain the fat — it adds flavor and fat content for the carnivore diet.
-
-
Add the Bone Broth:
-
Pour in the 1 cup beef bone broth and bring to a simmer.
-
Let it simmer for 5 minutes to reduce slightly and concentrate flavor.
-
-
Add Heavy Cream (and Optional Cream Cheese):
-
Stir in the 1/4 cup heavy cream and reduce heat to low.
-
If using cream cheese, stir in 1–2 tbsp now and whisk to incorporate until smooth.
-
Simmer gently for 5 more minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
-
-
Season to Taste:
-
Add 1 tsp sea salt and a pinch of black pepper (or leave pepper out if you’re doing strict carnivore).
-
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
-
-
Serve:
-
Spoon the creamy beef mixture into bowls and enjoy hot.
-
Optional: Top with a dollop of sour cream or shredded aged cheese (if tolerated).
-
📝 Tips
-
Use cream cheese to thicken if your sauce is too thin.
-
Want extra fat? Drizzle in a spoon of tallow or ghee at the end.
-
If tolerated, a few sautéed mushrooms can be added for a keto/carnivore hybrid.
