Cheesy Beef Sliders Recipe
Ingredients:
-
For the beef:
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for the juiciest sliders)
- 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
-
For the sliders:
- 12 slider buns
- 12 slices of American cheese (or your favorite cheese like cheddar or Swiss)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
-
For garnish (optional):
- Pickles
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Ketchup and mustard
Instructions:
-
Prepare the beef patties:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix everything gently with your hands to avoid overworking the meat, which can make it tough.
- Divide the beef mixture into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into a small patty, slightly larger than the slider buns, as they will shrink slightly while cooking.
-
Cook the beef patties:
- Heat a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they’re cooked through to your preferred level of doneness. If you want to melt cheese on top, add a slice of cheese to each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover the pan to melt.
-
Prepare the buns:
- While the patties cook, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the slider buns in half, keeping the top and bottom halves together in one piece (for easy assembly).
- Brush the tops of the buns with melted butter and place them on a baking sheet. If you like a bit of extra flavor, you can mix Dijon mustard and honey into the butter before brushing.
-
Assemble the sliders:
- Place the bottom half of each bun on a baking sheet.
- Add a cooked beef patty with melted cheese on top of each bun. Then, add the top half of the bun.
- Cover the baking sheet with foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes to heat everything through.
-
Serve and enjoy:
- Remove from the oven, unwrap the foil, and serve the sliders immediately.
- Garnish with pickles, lettuce, tomato slices, and any additional condiments you like (ketchup and mustard are classic options).
These sliders are sure to be a hit! You can even customize the cheese, toppings, or add a spicy twist with jalapeños if you like a little extra heat. Enjoy your cheesy beef sliders!
