Cheesy Cauliflower with Yogurt Sauce
Ingredients
For the Cauliflower:
- 1 cauliflower, cut into florets
- 3 lemon slices
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh dill, chopped
For the Cheese Sauce:
- 100 g butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 250 ml (1 cup) milk
- Salt, black pepper, nutmeg (to taste)
- 200 g hard cheese, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
For the Yogurt Layer:
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 egg yolk
- ½ tsp salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Cauliflower:
- Bring a pot of water to a boil, adding the lemon slices and salt.
- Add cauliflower florets and cook for 5-7 minutes until slightly tender.
- Drain well and place in a greased baking dish.
- Make the Cheese Sauce:
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw taste.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Add salt, black pepper, nutmeg, and minced garlic.

- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
- Garnish & Serve:
- Sprinkle fresh dill on top before serving.
