Crockpot Slow-Cooked Pork Ribs (Carnivore Recipe)
🍽️ Servings: 4
⏲️ Total Cook Time: 6 hours
🔥 Method: Slow Cooker (Crockpot)
🧾 Ingredients:
-
1 rack pork ribs (about 2.5–3 lbs)
-
1 tsp sea salt (adjust to taste)
-
¼ tsp ground pepper (optional for less strict carnivore)
Optional for added richness (still carnivore):
2 tbsp bacon grease, beef tallow, or lard
1–2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (technically not carnivore, skip if strict)
Bone broth for moisture (¼ cup)
🧑🍳 Instructions:
1. Prep the Ribs:
-
Remove the thin silver membrane on the bone side of the ribs (for tenderness).
-
Pat dry with paper towels.
-
Rub both sides with salt and optional pepper.
-
Optionally brush with a bit of melted tallow or bacon grease.
2. Set Up the Crockpot:
-
Lay the ribs in the slow cooker, bone-side down.
-
If the rack is too large, cut it in half to fit.
-
Optional: Add ¼ cup bone broth or just 2 tbsp bacon grease for more moisture.
3. Slow Cook:
-
Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours, or until ribs are tender and meat pulls away from the bone.
-
Or cook on HIGH for 3–4 hours if you’re short on time.
-
-
Optional: After cooking, broil ribs in the oven for 5–8 minutes to crisp the surface.
4. Serve:
-
Cut into individual ribs and serve hot.
-
Pour some of the rendered fat over the top for extra flavor.
