Easy Cheeseburger Pie Recipe
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 6
Ingredients:
1.5 lbs ground beef
1 tbsp tallow (or your favorite cooking fat), divided
1 medium onion, diced
4 whole eggs
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ground mustard
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 cup shredded cheese
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie plate or 8×8-inch baking dish.
In a skillet, heat half the tallow and lightly brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Once cooked, transfer the beef to the prepared dish.
Add the remaining tallow to the skillet and sauté the diced onion until translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Stir frequently.
While the onions cook, whisk the eggs with garlic powder, ground mustard, salt, and pepper.
Pour the egg mixture over the beef, letting it sink into the meat. Gently shake the dish if needed.
Spread the sautéed onions evenly over the egg and beef mixture.
Top the pie with shredded cheese.
Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let the pie rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Serving Tip: Pair with a bed of lettuce, pickles, or fresh tomato slices for a full burger-inspired meal. Add mustard or sugar-free ketchup on the side if desired.
