Fluffy Homemade Burger Buns
Ingredients:
– 1 cup warm milk

– 2 tablespoons sugar

– 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

– 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 1 egg, beaten

– 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon salt

– Sesame seeds, for topping

Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
2. Mix in melted butter and beaten egg.
3. Gradually add flour and salt to the mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
7. Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place on the prepared baking sheet.
8. Cover the buns with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
9. Brush the buns with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
10. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
11. Allow the buns to cool before slicing and using for your favorite burgers.
Tips:
– Make sure the milk is warm to activate the yeast properly.
– You can customize the toppings by adding poppy seeds, flaxseeds, or coarse salt instead of sesame seeds.
– These burger buns can also be frozen for later use. Just thaw and reheat before serving.
