🥩 Juicy Steak with Creamy Garlic Sauce

Ingredients:

For the steak:

  • 2 ribeye steaks (or sirloin/filet mignon)

  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2–3 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 2–3 sprigs of fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)

For the creamy garlic sauce:

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Optional: 1/4 tsp Dijon mustard or a splash of white wine for extra depth

🔥 Instructions:

1. Prepare the Steak:

  • Bring steaks to room temperature (about 20–30 minutes out of the fridge).

  • Pat dry with paper towels, then season generously with salt and pepper.

2. Sear the Steak:

  • Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet (cast iron works best) over high heat.

  • Add steaks and sear 3–4 minutes per side (for medium-rare), adding butter, crushed garlic, and herbs halfway through.

  • Baste the steak with the melted butter and juices.

  • Remove from pan and let rest for 5–10 minutes under foil.

3. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

  • In the same pan, lower heat to medium.

  • Add 1 tbsp butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).

  • Stir in cream, Parmesan, and optional Dijon or wine.

  • Simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

4. Serve:

  • Slice the steak and drizzle with creamy garlic sauce.

  • Garnish with fresh herbs or cracked pepper.

🍷 Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve with mashed potatoes, steamed green beans, or roasted asparagus.

  • A glass of Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot pairs wonderfully.
