This pizza is topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, and a creamy burrata cheese center.
It’s simple yet bursting with flavor!
For the Pizza Dough:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1 tbsp olive oil
For the Toppings:
1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup fresh burrata cheese (for the center)
1 ½ cups cherry tomatoes, diced
1 tbsp olive oil
Fresh basil leaves
1 tsp balsamic vinegar (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Prepare the Pizza Dough:
In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes foamy.
Add the flour, salt, and olive oil into the yeast mixture and stir to combine.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place it in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C), placing a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.
Shape the Pizza Dough:
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it in half. Roll out the dough into your desired pizza shape on a floured surface.
Place the dough on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet or pizza peel if you’re using a stone.
Assemble the Pizza:
Spread a thin layer of shredded mozzarella over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
Carefully place the burrata cheese in the center of the pizza, breaking it up slightly so it will melt as it bakes.
Scatter diced tomatoes around the burrata.
Drizzle olive oil over the top and season with salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if you like a bit of spice.
Bake:
Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Add the Final Touches:
Once out of the oven, drizzle with balsamic vinegar if you want to add a tangy sweetness.
Scatter fresh basil leaves over the top for a burst of freshness.
Serve:
Slice and serve this indulgent pizza while it’s still warm for a perfect combination of creamy burrata and fresh toppings.
For extra flavor, you can brush the pizza crust with garlic-infused olive oil before baking!
Enjoy your Tomato and Burrata Pizza!
