Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 45 minutes
🔥 Ingredients:
-
1.5 lbs (680g) ground beef (80/20 or fattier)
-
6 slices bacon, chopped
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite melting cheese)
-
4 oz (110g) cream cheese, softened
-
3 large eggs
-
½ tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper (optional)
-
¼ tsp garlic powder or smoked paprika (optional – omit for strict carnivore)
-
Optional toppings: more cheese, cooked bacon, or a drizzle of beef tallow
🔪 Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven:
-
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook Bacon & Beef:
-
In a large skillet, cook chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
-
In the bacon fat, cook ground beef until browned and fully cooked. Season with salt (and optional pepper/spices).
-
Drain excess fat if very greasy, but leave some for flavor.
3. Mix the Filling:
-
Stir the cream cheese into the hot beef until melted and fully incorporated.
-
Add cooked bacon (reserve some for topping if you like).
-
Let cool slightly, then stir in the eggs and half the shredded cheese.
4. Assemble in Baking Dish:
-
Pour the beef mixture into a greased 9-inch pie dish or small casserole dish.
-
Top with the remaining cheese and extra bacon bits if using.
5. Bake:
-
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
-
Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. It firms up nicely.
🧊 Storage:
-
Fridge: Keeps for 4–5 days.
-
Freezer: Freeze slices individually and reheat in air fryer or oven.
💡 Optional Add-ons (still carnivore-friendly):
-
A layer of thin-sliced beef liver for organ meat boost
-
Topped with a fried egg or more bacon
-
Drizzle of bone marrow or beef tallow after baking
