Carnivore Lasagna Recipe

A Carnivore Lasagna is a unique twist on traditional lasagna, focusing on meat and animal-based products while avoiding carbohydrates and plant-based ingredients. Here’s a simple recipe for a meat-lover’s dream lasagna:

Ingredients:

Meat Layers:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or a mix of beef, pork, and lamb)
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy, depending on your preference)
  • 1/2 lb ground pork (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1/2 lb cooked and crumbled bacon (optional, for extra richness)

Cheese Layers:

  • 2 cups ricotta cheese (full-fat)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (full-fat)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs (for binding)

Other:

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (to create a creamy texture)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp onion powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Meat:

    • In a large pan, brown the ground beef, sausage, and pork (if using). Cook until the meats are fully browned and cooked through, breaking them up with a spoon as you go.
    • If desired, add crumbled bacon for an extra smoky flavor.
    • Drain any excess fat, leaving just a little bit to keep the meat moist.
  2. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:

    • In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and eggs. Mix well until everything is combined.
    • Add heavy cream to create a creamy texture, and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and oregano (optional).
  3. Assemble the Lasagna:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat mixture at the bottom.
    • Layer a portion of the cheese mixture on top of the meat.
    • Repeat the layers, starting with the meat mixture, then the cheese mixture, until all ingredients are used up. Finish with a generous layer of the cheese mixture on top.
  4. Bake:

    • Cover the lasagna with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes.
    • After 25-30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes to allow the top to become golden and bubbly.
    • Let the lasagna rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to allow it to set.
  5. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Cut into squares and serve warm! Enjoy the carnivore-friendly lasagna, which is rich in protein and fat, and free from carbs.

Tips:

  • You can add more layers of cheese to create a cheesier version.
  • For more variety, feel free to mix in other meats like ground turkey or veal.
  • If you’re on a strict carnivore diet, skip the heavy cream and ricotta, and just layer ground meat with plenty of cheese for a more traditional “meat and cheese” lasagna.

Enjoy your delicious, meaty lasagna!
