Carnivore Cream Cheese Bread
Ingredients:
- 8 oz (1 cup) cream cheese, softened
- 6 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or another preferred cheese like cheddar or provolone)
- ¼ cup almond flour (optional for texture, or you can omit it for strict carnivore)
- 2 tbsp melted butter (optional, for extra richness)
- ½ tsp baking powder (optional, helps with fluffiness)
- ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional, for flavor)
- Fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme (optional, for added flavor)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter, ghee, or non-stick spray to prevent sticking, or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and melted butter until smooth. If you’re using a stand mixer or hand mixer, this step will be easier, but it can also be done by hand. Once the cream cheese is fully incorporated, add the eggs. Beat until smooth and lump-free.
- Add Dry Ingredients: If you’re using almond flour, add it now, along with the baking powder, salt, and garlic powder. Stir everything together thoroughly. The almond flour will give the bread some structure, but you can skip this step for a stricter carnivore option.
- Incorporate Cheese: Fold in the shredded mozzarella (or any other cheese you’re using). The cheese adds to the gooey texture and flavor. You can also sprinkle in some fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for extra flavor.
- Bake the Bread:Â Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve:Â Let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy as a savory snack, sandwich base, or side dish to your meal!
This bread should be a soft, slightly fluffy texture with a savory flavor. It’s versatile, so feel free to get creative with herbs or even different cheese types!
