Midday Meat Patties with Muenster Cheese
(Carnivore-Friendly)
Ingredients:
For the meat patties:
-
1 lb ground beef (80/20 is ideal for juicy patties)
-
1/4 cup grated Muenster cheese (optional to mix into the patty for flavor)
-
1 egg (helps bind the meat)
-
1 tbsp beef tallow or melted butter (for extra fat and flavor)
-
1 tsp garlic powder (optional, for added flavor)
-
1 tsp onion powder (optional)
-
1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
-
Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
For topping:
-
Muenster cheese slices (for melting on top of the patties)
-
Beef tallow or butter (for cooking)
Instructions:
-
Prepare the meat mixture:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, grated Muenster cheese (if using in the patty), beef tallow or melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Mix everything together until well combined. Try not to overwork the meat to keep the patties tender. -
Form the patties:
Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions (for larger patties) or more if you prefer smaller ones. Form each portion into a patty, making them slightly larger than the size of your bun (if using buns), as they will shrink a bit while cooking. -
Cook the patties:
Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and add about 1-2 tbsp of beef tallow or butter to coat the pan. Once the pan is hot, place the patties in the skillet, leaving space between each one.
Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side until they’re browned and cooked through, depending on the thickness of your patties. Flip them only once to get that perfect sear. -
Melt the cheese:
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Muenster cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet with a lid. Let the cheese melt and become gooey. -
Serve and enjoy:
Once the patties are done, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a minute before serving.
Serve the patties on their own or with a side of crispy bacon or veggies (if you’re not strictly carnivore). You can also add a little extra cheese or condiments like homemade mayo for some richness.
Optional Carnivore Add-ons:
-
Bacon: Add crispy bacon strips on top of the cheese for even more flavor and richness.
-
Fried Eggs: Top each patty with a fried egg to make it even more indulgent.
-
Carnivore Buns: If you’re craving a bun, you can use carnivore-friendly buns made with pork rinds or ground beef as the base.
Tips:
-
Juicy patties: For a juicier patty, you can use 70/30 ground beef (70% meat, 30% fat) or even add some ground pork or lamb for variety.
-
Seasoning: If you like, you can experiment with other seasonings like smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, or thyme for a unique twist.
These midday meat patties with Muenster cheese are a great protein-packed meal that’s satisfying and rich in flavor. You can easily customize it to your liking—whether you keep it simple with just the meat and cheese, or add some extra indulgent toppings!
Enjoy your delicious and hearty carnivore-friendly meal! 😋
